Leaks on the customer’s side of the meter will be adjusted under the following guidelines in accordance with West Virginia Public Service Commission Water Rules 6.4.3.a and 6.4.3.b.

a. The leak must be verified by a Hammond employee and verification of the repair of the leak must be completed.

b. A recalculated bill will be prepared giving an adjustment to all water used above 200% of the customer’s historic usage. (Historic usage shall be defined as the average usage of the preceding twelve (12) months, or actual period of service, if less than twelve (12) months.

c. The water used above the historic usage will be billed at the incremental cost of treating and purchasing the water, as determined by the West Virginia Public Commission.

d. Leaks occurring on the customer’s side of the meter that have not been repaired after notification by a Hammond employee will not be adjusted after the date of notification.
